The first time I held a camera in my hands was in 5th grade of Primary School. My father, who was a teacher at the time, would develop photos taken at school events such as sports day or excursions at a dark room at home, and as I helped with these tasks, my interest in photography grew. I was a member of the astronomy club then, and loved looking at the stars in the night sky from the telescope. I remember the first photo I took in my life was that of a full moon, and being elated when the photo was developed, showed craters in the moon not visible to the naked eye.
Since becoming a professional photographer, I have taken countless photos for world famous people, models, actresses, landscapes and still lifes, but I wrestle seriously to always leave valuable records of the once-in-a-lifetime chance at a moment to push the shutter release button.

私が初めてカメラを手にしたのは小学校５年生の時です。当時教員だった私の父が、学校行事の運動会や遠足で撮影したスナップ写真を、自宅の暗室で焼き増し作業するのを手伝いながら、次第に私自身も写真に興味を持つようになりました。その頃私は天文学同好会に所属していて、望遠鏡を覗き、夜空に浮かんだ星を眺めているのが好きでした。生まれて初めて自分で撮影したのは満月の写真で、肉眼では見えない月のクレーターを印画紙に焼き付けることに、とても興奮したのを覚えています。
プロのフォトグラファーになってからは、世界中の著名人、モデルや女優、風景や静物などの写真を沢山撮影してきましたが、どんな時でもシャッターを押す瞬間は、一期一会の貴重な記録を残すべく、真剣勝負で挑んでいます。
